    The Internship Program, as a component of Pathways, is for current students and individuals accepted for enrollment in a qualifying educational program. This position is established to provide a meaningful employment opportunity in the Park Guide occupation. The work involves giving talks, interpreting natural and historic features, answering questions, guiding tours, and providing miscellaneous services to visitors.

    Incumbent will work with Interpretation staff as a member of the Resource Education & Visitor Services Division. They will be responsible for staffing visitor entry and information desk, answering visitor questions, explaining regulations, providing information, presenting talks and leading tours relating to natural/cultural aspects of the park. Incumbent will be expected to operate the cooperating association bookstore (make sales, assist with inventory stock, and keep display area stocked and neat.) Incumbent will assist other staff, volunteers, and interns in the preparation of interpretive programs, complete forms for lost and found, take reservations, keep records on visitor statistics, and operate and maintain audio-visual and other interpretive equipment. Other duties may include issuing Interagency passes, assisting with basic emergency response, as needed, performing roving contact, assisting with special events planning and activities, and working on the park social media accounts and website.

    St. Croix National Scenic Riverway ONLY: Incumbent will conduct roving contacts by kayak on the river. Kayak training will be provided.
