    Summary


    The Compensation and Pension Physician Assistant provides direct patient care via VA disability evaluations including performing history and physical examinations, establishing medical diagnoses, orders and interpret labs, radiographic and other diagnostic tests appropriately, in accordance with the National guidelines and quality indicators set forth by the Office of Disability and Medical Assessment (DMA), for rating purposes by the Veterans Benefits Administration Regional Office.

    Responsibilities

    • Assessment and evaluation of a comprehensive range of healthcare problems
    • Informing and educating the Veterans in understanding the scope of the disability claims
    • Performing Separation Health Assessment Examinations (SHA)
    • Communicates and treats Customers (Veterans, their Representatives, Visitors, all VA Staff and other constituents in accordance with the professional standards of the facility
    • Establishing medical diagnoses
    • Orders and interpret labs, radiographic and other diagnostic tests

    Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday

    *The incumbent for this position may be eligible to apply for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) contingent on funding availability. Participation in EDRP is contingent on the availability of EDRP funding and is not guaranteed. Please note EDRP is a one-time benefit so if you have already received EDRP in the past you would not be eligible to reapply.
