    This position is part of the Office of the Chairman. The incumbent will serve as a Research Support Specialist.

    Responsibilities

    As a RESEARCH SUPPORT SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-9/11 some of your typical work assignments may include:

    • Performs congressional and legislative research and analysis to support the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Director, Vice Director and other senior Joint Staff leadership.
    • Provides key research on sensitive issues and special assignments.
    • Facilitates principal-level engagement with Congress by undertaking office call arrangements.
    • Serves as the legislature's point of contact for coordinating all aspects of visits to include assisting with briefing topics, transportation arrangements, escorting of visitors and appropriate protocol extended to Congressional visitors.
    • Researches and performs special projects at the direction of the Director and Principal Deputy involving issues relating to congressional concerns and leaders' responsibilities in these arenas.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
