    Responsibilities

    Being a Program Analyst makes you a valuable member of the Office of Inspector General. You will primarily serve as an analyst performing and/or supporting audits,inspections and evaluations, and investigations.Typical assignments include:

    • Evaluate automated systems or technology management programs and operations to determine their level of effectiveness, efficiency, and level to which they provide desired objectives and results
    • Conduct independent inspections, evaluations and special reviews of programs and operations, which focus on fraud, abuse, mismanagement and waste of taxpayer funds invested in Homeland Security.
    • Research and prepare proposals for future department-wide audits, inspections and evaluations and/or investigations.
    • Developing new approaches where no precedents exist and/or developing creative solutions to controversial problems.
    • Preparing various types of reports, briefings, and testimony that cover all major management aspects of DHS programs.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
