    The Supervisory Health Systems Specialist, located in the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Inspector General, Office of Healthcare Inspections, will be responsible for establishing and managing a nationwide program of quality assurance and patient care inspection and oversight activities covering the broad scope of Veterans Health Administration quality assurance and patient care activities at the Headquarters level, the Veterans Health Administration regions, and more than 300 Veterans Health Administration healthcare facilities.

    As a Supervisory Health Systems Specialist, you will:

    • Manage a nationwide program of quality assurance and patient care inspection and oversight activities covering the broad scope of Veterans Health Administration quality assurance and patient care activities.

    • Share full responsibility with the Director to plan, direct, organize, and manage program with scope that supports agency programs that provide a variety of investigative, auditing, and health care services oversight for nationwide Veterans services and programs with intense Congressional oversight and interest.

    • Provide expert support in quality assurance and patient care issues to OIG regional and central office audit and investigations employees in order to improve the OIG's coverage of quality assurance and patient care activities.

    Travel Required

    50% or less - Travel nationwide under tight deadlines. The incumbent should anticipate frequent walking and standing as a component of this travel.
