    About the Position:
    This position is under the supervision of the Washington Aqueduct. The Aqueduct, while part of the US Army Corps of Engineers, is a large scale, vital public utility, wholly financed through the sale of potable water.

    • Maintain the Quality Assurance Program for a Chemistry and Microbiology drinking water laboratory.
    • Serve as a technical expert for laboratory research and development projects.
    • Perform analysis of non-compliance water samples and product test samples.
    • Maintain schedules for Quality Control training, proficiency testing, Standard Operating Procedures reviews, equipment operation assessments, and Environmental Protection Agency audits.
    • Conduct classes and Quality Control refresher training for plant operators and laboratory employees pertaining to lab ethics and analytical methods.
    • Conduct public tours periodically at a technical level of the water treatment plant facilities, lectures on water supply chemistry and treatment and prepares technical papers.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 10% of the time for this position.
