    The duties and responsibilities of the Nursing Assistant - include but are not limited to the following:

    • Recognize and react to emergent patient/resident care situations and intervene while waiting for assistance.
    • Serve as a preceptor to new Nursing Assistant by assisting with the coordination of their orientation and overseeing/assessing their practical experience while in a clinical setting.
    • Performs/Assists patients with activities of daily living/personal care and routine and prescribed patient care, utilizing Medical Center resources, as indicated.
    • Complies with policies and procedures of the Medical Center and specific job related standard operating procedures.
    • Attends and completes training required for continuing education and mandatory training with established policy and procedures.
    • Assists with administration of care and treatments, assembles and operates equipment, and assists patients with special equipment according to level of education and training.
    • Maintains a clean environment, observes and practices Patient Care Service policy and procedure about infection control.
    • Communicates with patients and families in a courteous, professional manner and provides patient, family/significant others instruction within the incumbent's level of training and education.
