    The incumbent serves as the Lead Pharmacy Technician at Baltimore inpatient VAMHCS Pharmacy Service. The incumbent assist in training of pharmacy personnel, such as pharmacy technicians and volunteers assigned to the Pharmacy Department. The incumbent coordinates the timing and sequence of assigned task of pharmacy technicians to meet variable workload demands in the Pharmacy Section. The incumbent will rotate among various sections/divisions within VAMHCS Pharmacy Service, as determined by scheduling and workload requirements in order to provide technician coverage on all operating shifts. Work on prescription/medication orders and intravenous solutions is checked by a pharmacist. This position requires basic knowledge of computer keyboarding and familiarity with the use of the medical center computer systems, as well as knowledge of VA policies regarding data security and patient confidentiality. The incumbent functions in the capacity of a GS-6 Pharmacy Technician in all areas of competency as staffing requirements dictate. The incumbent assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care and timely customer service in accordance with the mission, vision and goals of the VAMHCS.

    Work Schedule: Sunday-Saturday 8am-4:30pm with possible shift rotations and Holidays

    Occasional travel - Maybe required between Baltimore and Perry Point, Baltimore and Loch Raven, Baltimore and all local CBOC'S
