This position is in the Senior Executive Service (SES) and is that of Chief Information Officer (CIO), Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), oversees the operations of the OCIO and the Office of Digital and Information Strategy (ODIS), and reports to the Director, IMLS. The incumbent is a member of the Director's Leadership Team.
Job Overview:
Develops, conceives, plans, and implements policies and guidelines affecting broad, emerging, and/or critical agency programs. Translates new strategic initiatives and/or regulatory requirements into program goals, actions, and policies, interpreting the impact of new initiatives and requirements on agency programs. Recognized as an agency authority in formulating new policies and program objectives that have a broad or long-range impact on one or more significant programs of the agency. Provides management and coordination and support services to top executives of the agency on change management and internal business process improvements to increase the effectiveness of major agency operations and functions. Has overall responsibility, as well as delegated authority, for the oversight and administration of broad, emerging, and/or critical agency programs or operations.
