This position is located at the Seward Military Resort.
Approximate dates of employment are 15 May - 15 September 2019.
Orients passengers in the use of fishing gear and explains species of fish.
Baits hooks and lands fish. Assists in issuing life vest and helps fit them on passengers.
Reports any abuse to equipment by passengers to boat captain or Resort Manager.
Helps passengers in all emergencies. Conducts or assists with customer boat safety briefing as necessary.
Cleans vessel at end of day, to include removing garbage, scrubbing decks, railings and sides of vessel, washing windows, cleaning of passenger cabin and marine head.
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of all employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15j to include a Tier 1 background investigation and a pre-employment physical.
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
Work is performed outside. Exposed to wind and cold, water, glare, rain or sun for long periods of time.
Coordination of hands, eyes, body, and legs is needed to work safely on wet and moving decks.
Deckhands are exposed to possible falls on deck and to the possibility of falling overboard.
Active standing, walking, bending and moderate lifting in casting off mooring lines, anchoring of vessel, loading and unloading of vessel.
Heavy lifting (40 to 50 pounds) is required when pulling large species of fish on board vessel; will be assisted by other personnel if over 50 pounds.
This position is covered by the DA Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program. Incumbent is required to sign DA Form 5019-R.
This position has critical safety or security responsibilities and as such has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP).
As a condition of employment, incumbent of a TDP is subject to a random drug test that occurs without suspicion that a particular individual is using illegal drugs.
Qualifications
Knowledge of and skill in the use of fishing and vessel equipment.
Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment.
Ability to communicate.
Skill in the use of fishing and vessel equipment.
Knowledge of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Education
