The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is looking for an experienced senior level executive to serve as the Director, Division of Electric Power Regulation-West, Office of Energy Market Regulation. The Division Director is responsible for managing staff which analyzes filings and applications involving the interstate sale for resale or transmission of electric energy in the Western region. The Director acts on submittals under delegated authority and provides expert advice to the Commission on filings, initial decisions, rehearings, complaints, and requests for declaratory orders. Reviews and analyzes Regional Transmission Organization (RTO)/Independent System Operator (ISO) proposals or proposals for the formation of other regional transmission entities. Reviews and analyzes electric market-based rate applications and corporate applications from public utilities, including filings under sections 203 and 204 of the Federal Power Act as well as interlocking directorate applications. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission assists consumers in obtaining reliable, efficient and sustainable energy services at a reasonable cost through appropriate regulatory and market means.
--Serves as the Director of the Division of Electric Power Regulation-West (DEPR-West) with the primary responsibility for the supervision and management of the Division.
--Provides vision and leadership in the development and execution of overall policies, programs, and issues associated with the Commission's jurisdiction over electric markets in the region, and over the Commission's corporate and electric market-based rate programs nationally. These activities relate to markets, tariffs, and rates.
--Manages division staff in a manner that exemplifies and promotes five leadership behaviors: communication, setting direction, implementation and achievement, fostering and promoting teamwork and building trust and commitment.
FERC has a certified SES Performance Appraisal System. The salary range for each SES position is determined by the level of responsibility and duties of the incumbent.
