The Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) Registered Nurse demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice based on conscious, deliberate planning, and critical thinking skills. The registered nurse assigned to RRTP is a professional nurse with clinical knowledge that enables him/her to provide psychiatric and medical nursing care to a veteran population with diverse mental health diagnosis and substance use disorders and symptoms.
Demonstrates positive effective communication skills and professional behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork with internal and external customers.
Demonstrates professional behavior and effective interpersonal skills with others in planning and providing patient care.
Responsible for medication administration, medication management, progressive medication level management.
Triage and assess patients and identified the need to seek and consult additional resources (medical, mental health, Emergency Department, Dental, etc.), in addition to assisting in the coordination of care across multiple disciplines.
Identifies and understands the importance of nursing evidence-based practice and its impact upon the patient care improvement process.
Identifying areas of improvement based on current evidence-based practice and validating improvement opportunities by implementing changes to nursing practice.
Demonstrates leadership and assists others in incorporating information obtained from QI findings into clinical practice and in the development of revision of policies/procedures.
Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
The nurse's primary commitment is to the patient/resident, whether an individual, family, group, or community.
Duty Hours: Primarily Monday - Friday, Day Shifts. With occasional nights and weekend duty.
Work Schedule: Primarily evenings with occasional nights and weekends.
