This is a SUMMER 2019 internship position.
This position is located in the Office of Enforcement (OE) which serves the public interest by protecting consumers through market oversight and surveillance; assuring compliance with tariffs, rules, regulations, and orders; detecting, auditing, and investigating potential violations; and crafting appropriate remedies, including civil penalties and other measures.
At time of application, applicant must submit proof of current enrollment in a degree-seeking program. If selected, applicant must provide proof of continuing education through either the Summer or Fall 2019 semesters.
These positions are temporary, they may be converted to a full time, career-conditional position. Any conversions to full time or career-conditional status is neither implied nor guaranteed.
Major Duties:
- Works individually or as a team member providing assistance in multiple areas including travel, training, time and attendance, budget and human resources.
- Serves as a member of the Administrative Team providing administrative support to multiple areas.
- Coordinates travel and training for managers, including itineraries, reservations, authorizations, vouchers and training requisitions.
- Serves as a point of contact for the automated payroll system (webTA), including managing employee accounts, editing/monitoring and validating timesheets and accessing reports.
Duties and responsibilities at the GS-4 level may be of less complexity.

GS-4: Candidates must either have one full year or more of general experience OR have completed two full years of college at an accredited college or university. Experience would be providing administrative support in areas such as proofreading, making travel arrangements, arranging training, managing office time and attendance, filing presentation and conference coordination, and tracking day to day office activities.
GS-5: Candidates must have either three year of experience, one year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-4 level OR have completed a four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative support including skill in scheduling meetings and appointments, proofreading, knowledge of computer software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), travel (international and domestic), training, presentation and conference coordination and tracking day-to-day activities to increase the efficiency of the office. Skill in organizing and prioritizing work assignments.
At time of appointment candidates must meet the qualification requirements.
There is no OPM individual educational requirement for the GS-0399 series.
