    An ideal candidate will have experience providing clinical social work care in a medical setting, and teaching clinical social work concepts to a variety of adult learners; undergraduate students, graduate students, junior social work practitioners, and senior, licensed clinical social work staff. They will be grounded in basic biomedical research concepts and methodologies, and skilled at communicating the role clinical social workers play in supporting research subjects in a medical setting.

    • Performs a range of conventional screening, assessment, diagnostic, treatment, consultative, and educational services to Clinical Center patients, families, and staff.
    • Develops training programs to meet the needs of developing social workers and clinical social work staff.
    • Administers credentialing and privileging activities for social workers providing clinical care in a medical facility.
    • Monitors travel and training budgets and makes recommendations for budget expenditures to support professional training programs.
    • Provides crisis intervention, individual, family or group psychotherapy, emotional/environmental supports and resource planning.
    • Provides clinical supervision for professional independently licensed clinical social workers.
    • Reviews proposed research protocols and assesses impact on social work operations and resources.
