    The Supervisory Medical Technologist-Evening/Night Shift Core Lab is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Core Laboratory as well as the technical improvement of procedures and the scientific advancement of staff with full supervisory responsibility for non-supervisory personnel in the Core Laboratory section of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS).

    Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

    Serves as a consultant to the Service Chief and Chief Medical Technologist as well as other healthcare providers to provide technical advice and data interpretation for all of the testing services provided by the Core Laboratory.
    Plans and schedules on-going work.
    Adjusts staffing levels or work procedures.
    Chooses methods for achieving work goals, objectives, and management strategies.
    Provides day-to-day supervision of highly complex test performance.
    Resolves any technical issues in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    Monitors test performance to ensure acceptable levels of performance.
    Develops and updates technical policies and procedure manuals.
    Ensures all staff and affiliate staff are in compliance with accrediting and regulating bodies.
    Assures corrective action is initiated when test performance deviates from established performance specifications.
    Assures orientation, training, and competency assessment of staff.
    Implements and monitors quality management activities.
    Performs the full range of supervisory duties.
    Recommends appointment, plans and assigns work, gives advice and counsel, and evaluates work of subordinates.

    Work Schedule: Shift Work, Evening/Night Shift Core Lab, 4:00 pm to 12:00 am (may be required to work rotating weekends, holidays, and other shifts)
