    This position is located in the System Resources and Operation Division of the Office of Resource Planning and Budget Information in the Bureau of Budget and Planning (BP/RPBI/SRO). SRO provides global project management and systems support for the Department’s Financial Management business systems. It also provides budgetary analyses to ensure the effective use of resources. This budget analyst position provides analytical evaluative work in budget formulation, oversight, and execution.

    • Provides the full range of budget development including formulation, justification, and presentation; assesses planned and anticipated program activities; and, participates in the development and enhancement of financial and other relevant systems.
    • Provides budget oversight, control, and execution, actively studying program initiatives to address conflicts and incompatibilities to ensure program objectives are met.
    • Develops cost–benefit and other analyses in order to recommend changes in funding and budget plans, highlighting the impact recommendations may have on programs, projects, and activities.
    • Supports and provides advice, guidance, and recommendations on the entire budget process of assigned area(s) to program officials and other managers, both orally and in writing.
    • Represents the office at conferences and meetings within the interagency and elsewhere, reporting back to the supervisor.

    25% or less - Both domestic and international travel may be required.
