The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's role is to oversee various aspects of the energy industry, including transmission of electricity, natural gas and oil. We also analyze proposals to build liquefied natural gas terminals and interstate natural gas pipelines and license hydropower projects. To help support the modernization of the electric system here in the U.S., we are focusing on issues associated with a smarter grid.
This position is located in Security and Safety Division, Office of the Executive Director at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. This Division is responsible for providing the Commission's security and safety management programs while providing project management and technical direction for the Commission occupational safety and health program.
Major Duties for the Emergency Management Specialist (COOP):
- Implements Commission efforts and activities associated with Presidential Policy Directive 40 and Federal Continuity Directives.
- Develops and implement the Commission’s Test, Training, and Exercise program for COOP, emergency response, and security initiatives.
- Coordinates data collection and reporting with interagency entities, to include Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
