The Section Chief for Psychiatry plans, implements, directs, provides clinical and administrative oversight to Mental Health activities, including requirements for staff, budget, equipment, and supplies. Proven leadership skills, including problem solving skills, conflict resolution abilities, task prioritization, project management, efficiency improvements etc. are highly desirable and expected. He/she shall effectively delegate responsibilities, evaluate the performance of subordinates and offer prompt feedback related to performance and conduct. This individual is expected to effectively handle supervisory responsibilities, programmatic oversight to provide patient centered care across diverse Mental Health programs to meet or exceed expectations from within and outside the medical center. He/she will positively contribute towards performance standards while favorably contributing to employee morale, programmatic stability and organizational welfare. The incumbent will perform general psychiatric assessment and treatment in a multi-disciplinary setting composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric social workers, nurse practitioners and psychopharmacologists. Other responsibilities will be as assigned by supervisor, based on organizational needs.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am- 4:30 pm
