Supervises financial analysts and/or financial modelers.
Serves as a subject matter expert on the quantitative analysis of the regulated entities' credit risk transfer transactions and related activities.
Serves as a subject matter expert on the quantitative analysis of the regulated entities' risk profile, financial performance and mortgage portfolio data.
Serves as a subject matter expert on the quantitative analysis of the risk profile of counterparties that do business with the regulated entities.
Serves as a subject matter expert on the quantitative analysis of primary and secondary mortgage markets, and in support of housing policy development and goals.
Serves as a technical resource to other financial analysts on analytical content of standard management reports, and provides editorial review for consistency and accuracy to enhance the quality of the reports. Recommends modifications to the analyses/reports.
Works collaboratively with FHFA senior management and staff to coordinate and expedite matters as requested.
Develops presentations and presents results of analysis to FHFA management, colleagues, other FHFA offices, and the regulated entities and successfully provides support and guidance to junior staff preparing presentations. Provides analysis and information in support of agency testimony or other publicly released information.
Establishes and maintains effective contacts with staff and management within and outside of FHFA for the purpose of achieving work objectives, resolving problems, or exchanging information. Represents FHFA at meetings with the regulated entities, other government agencies, or other relevant external organizations, and is viewed as a technical expert in this subject area.
Provides significant and authoritative materials in support of projects to address issues of regulatory policy.
Proactively explores alternative approaches to analyses/reports independently or through discussions with colleagues or supervisor. Exhibits the ability to move efforts to completion in a timely manner without significant management intervention.
Uses subject matter expertise to determine the data needed to support analyses/reports and expert communication skills to communicate technical data requirements.
Serves as lead analyst/project manager on completion of ad-hoc analyses or presentations on financial performance issues requested by senior management, and in support of housing policy development.
