The Assistant Director of the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Joint Staff J1, Manpower and Personnel Directorate serves as a principal advisor to the Chief, National Guard Bureau (CNGB) and Vice Chief, National Guard Bureau on all matters relating to the development of NG joint personnel capabilities, the manpower and personnel strategies required to field and sustain joint NG readiness capabilities, resourcing special programs and providing personnel policies for the Title 32 non-federalized force.
