    This position of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFORMATION SECURITY) starts at a salary of $114,590.00 GS-14 grade level, step 01, with promotion potential to $148,967.00 GS-14 grade level, step 10.

    Responsibilities

    • The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
    • As the IT Specialist (Information Security), Security Engineer, you will:
    • Implement higher-level security requirements such as those resulting from laws, regulations, or Presidential directives.
    • Deploy large scale, complex, high performance, security solutions using cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
    • Review proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks and work as part of DevSecOps teams to recommend and implement appropriate mitigating controls.
    • Develop long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.
    • Identify the need for changes based on new security technologies or threats.
    • Develop policy, engineering, configuration, and best practices guidance for deploying applications and utilizing services of major IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Cloud Service Providers.
    • Collaborate with other organizations to develop and implement best practices for secure software development on an enterprise-scale.
