    About the Position: The purpose of this position is to serve as the senior National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) program manager and environmental compliance planner for Fort Bliss.

    Responsibilities

    • Reviews all potential installation undertakings and determines the level and complexity of NEPA review and documentation required.
    • Applying sound technical knowledge and in depth understanding of environmental laws and regulations regarding all environmental media.
    • Tracks and manages review and analysis by technical subject matter experts for all environmental media and environmental attorneys.
    • Coordinates and facilitates National Environmental Policy Act review and analysis at all levels.
    • Develops policy and decision support documentation and briefings for the command group.
    • Advises decision-makers of the policy and risk implications of different courses of action. Prepares and delivers command level briefings.
    • Prepares, coordinates and carries to completion all levels of environmental documentation required for compliance with NEPA.
    • Develops and maintains the Installation Mitigation Action Plan.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - 10% travel may be required for training purposes
