    You will serve as a Marine Surveyor in the Engineering Department of MSFSC SHIP SUPPORT UNIT JAPAN.

    • You will develop government cost estimates for labor and materials for accomplishment of work.
    • You will write work specifications for mechanical, electrical, and structural work to be performed by shipyards in accordance with directives, instructions, technical requirements, and sound ship repair or maintenance and marine practice.
    • You will perform contactor oversight to ensure work specifications and legal adherence to written contract requirement.
    • You will make field inspections of shipyards to determine maintenance capabilities.

    Travel Required

    75% or less - This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
