    Physical Requirements: Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office.

    This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-11. At the GS-9 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-11. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds. Promotion is not guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied.

    Major Duties:

    • Prepares and provides briefings and presentations on VA programs and issues of congressional interest and makes recommendations.
    • Develops hearing project plans that are used to guide hearing execution, document planning assumptions and decisions, and document scope and schedule, and to ensure timely completion.
    • Assists management in interpretation and utilization of reports and information provided.
    • Writes and reviews a full range of correspondence/information to be provided to members of Congress, congressional staff, interest groups and the general public.
    • Provide technical assistance to program staff on how to respond to congressional programmatic inquiries.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.
