    Summary

    You will serve as the Branch Chief for Space and Supply Management Branch, in the Logistics and Space Management Division, within the Office of Resource Management and Planning (RMP), at the Board of Veterans' Appeals (Board), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). You will serves as a member of the top management team and is relied on for authoritative advice on all aspects of Space and Supply Management.

    Responsibilities

    You exercise the full range of administrative and technical supervisory authorities and responsibilities necessary for accomplishing work assignments and review, as well as essential administrative and human resources management functions such as planning, distributing, and assigning work; defining work requirements and milestones; establishing and adjusting tactical and strategic plans, schedules, and deadlines; and evaluating employee performance. You will establish priorities and direct efforts to accomplish various tasks associated with the lifecycle management and operations of all hearings and appeals under the jurisdiction of the Board.

    You are responsible for the development, preparation, and submission of the 5-Year Plan and Facilities Annual Management Plan operations in accordance with broad policy guidance. Decisions are often complicated by conflicting management goals. You direct the management of a multitude of technical experts, architects, engineers, and managers during pertinent discussions with local government officials in carrying out new projects that affect the operations of the Board.

    You will provides advice on all matters pertaining to the facilities and infrastructure, including facilities planning and program development, capital repair, restoration, improvement planning, and contract administration, and development of budgetary resource requirements. You advise on all matters pertaining to physical plan maintenance and operations including repair program planning, support to construction, minor alterations and improvement, facilities condition inspection, energy management, facilities maintenance and repair service contracts, and grounds management. Develops, justifies, and manages the Facilities annual budget.

    For this position within the Logistics and Space Management Division, you are accountable and report directly to the Executive Director, Resource Management & Planning. Additionally, you will provide ongoing support to the Board Chairman. You serve as the Supervisory Building Management Specialist, providing support to work force consisting of roughly 1000 Board personnel, tenants and contractors.
