    This position is located in the Department of Health And Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Office of Head Start (OHS), located in Atlanta, Georgia and Washington, District of Columbia.

    Additional selections may be made across the Department of Health and Human Services through this vacancy announcement.

    Salary by Region:
    Atlanta, GA $108,281 - $140,765
    Washington, DC $114,590 - $148,967

    Responsibilities

    • Directing the implementation of national head start and/or early childhood development programs, policies, and procedures
    • Recommending strategies and approaches to improve performance of assigned programs
    • Collaborating with internal and external partners, staff and grantees that reflect the highest standards of program integrity
    • Managing the process of reviewing and negotiating grant applications and proposals when appropriate and directly enters into negotiation
    • Making recommendations on requests for funding, and where appropriate recommends suspension of operations, denial of refunding or termination actions
    • Supervising a staff ensuring quality and quantity of work, planning and scheduling work, and setting priorities

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel 1-5 days per month for this position.
