Columbia VA Health Care System is seeking an RN for the Operating Room to serve as a responsible member of the Acute Hospital Team and to interact with Veteran's, family members, professional and supportive personnel who provide patient care, and with members of other services.The staff nurse is involved in direct patient care and patient/family. The staff nurse is administratively responsible to the Nurse Manager/Head Nurse. The incumbent uses the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation) in the delivery of safe, high quality care. He/she must be able to manage the care for a group of patients. The incumbent initiates effective action in emergencies and complies with policies and procedures including but not limited to; Infection Control, Safety, Medication Administration, general, vascular, orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology, plastics, thoracic, ENT, and pre-surgical evaluation. Identifies and documents patient education and assumes responsibility for the management of patient care. Performs other related duties as required by Nurse Manager.
Work Schedule: Typically day tours with flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays. Tour of duty is subject to change based on agency needs.
