Seeking a part time HUD-VASH Psychiatrist to be part of a robust Homeless Program on a journey towards innovative approaches in meeting the healthcare needs of Veterans who have experienced chronic homelessness. Our mission is to achieve a systematic end to homelessness, meaning that there are no Veterans sleeping on our streets and every Veteran has access to permanent housing. Should Veterans become or be at-risk of becoming homeless, there will be the capacity to quickly connect them to the help they need to achieve housing stability. The HUD-VASH program delivers services within a Housing First philosophy and implements the most up to date best practice models. The HUD-VASH Psychiatrist would provide psychiatric treatment to Veterans enrolled in the HUD-VASH Program and the H-PACT; however, would have opportunities to serve homeless Veterans in other Homeless Program areas. This is a vulnerable, aging population with co-occurring, complex needs related to substance use, physical health, mental health, psychiatric treatment, social conditions, and housing issues.

This position is located in the Homeless Program Office in Madison, WI. As a Psychiatrist, you will work on a multidisciplinary team, including primary care, to provide coordinated, integrated, rehabilitative and restorative mental health care, with the goal of helping eligible Veterans achieve and maintain the highest level of functioning and independence.
