    Summary

    This position is located in the Information Technology Policy and Review Office, one of four organizational components of the Office of the Chief Information Officer, under the NIH Office of the Director. The incumbent serves as the Director of the Information Technology Policy and Review Office, and also acts as a senior advisor to the Chief Information Officer, providing leadership in the areas of IT policy, strategy, governance, and portfolio analysis and management for the NIH community.

    Responsibilities

    • As a Supervisory IT Specialist (PLCYPLN), you will:
    • Provide NIH-wide leadership in the areas of IT policy, IT budget, IT portfolio management, IT Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC), Technology Business Management (TBM), IT Governance, and IT Strategic Planning.
    • Serve as the expert and key technical policy advisor to the NIH CIO, and other senior NIH leadership on IT management, governance, and related regulation, legislation, and policy.
    • Lead the assessment of proposed and newly enacted IT related legislation, regulations and policies and provide expert advice on the impact to NIH programs and activities.
    • Direct annual NIH IT budget cycle activities, including developing data calls, reviewing initial budget submission and OMB passback, and ensuring NIH's submission of OMB IT Portfolio Summary is accurate and complete.
    • Supervise ITPRO federal staff, and direct ITPRO federal and contractor staff activities in the above areas, including development of office goals and priorities, and developing and managing to the offices operating budget.
