    This position is located in the Operational Delivery and Performance organization (TOII), Internal Operations Management Office (TOI), Transmission System Operations (TO), Transmission Services (T), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).  The Organizational Delivery and Performance organization provides planning, scheduling and process delivery for all programs and initiatives critical to the safe and reliable operations of the Transmission System Operations organization and across BPA.

    As a Mathematical Statistician or Statistician, you will:

    Serve in a developmental capacity, as a mathematical statistician/statistician performing scientific work that involves developing and adapting mathematical methods and techniques to statistical processes to help translate data into information and to help identify and solve BPA transmission issues. Performs the following duties:

    1. Apply practical knowledge of statistical concepts, applications, and tools to concepts, and tools to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data, to help translate data into information, and to help identify and solve BPA transmission issues. 
    2. Assist (GS-09) Develops (GS-11) and provides quantitative measures or indicators of system performance and/or quality to help improve performance. Uses conventional and unconventional indicators and display methods to provide value-added research for BPA. 
    3. Develop performance indicators to determine the optimum operation of the system. Assists in developing measurement tools to determine deviation from optimum performance. 
    4. Has a commitment to openness, transparency of data, processes, and results as they benefit a public-sector agency such as BPA. 

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Occasional travel is required to various BPA locations for meetings and/or training.
