    Responsibilities

    As a Housekeeping Aid, you will perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties and routine housekeeping duties within the West Texas VA Health Care Center. Duties include cleaning wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms, and other areas. Housekeeping Aids sweep, mop, scrub (machine) floors, vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture, empty waste baskets, clean light globes and Venetian blinds, wash walls, windows with climbing small ladders, refill toilet tissue and tower dispensers and move furniture. Housekeeping Aids carry out assignments with minimum supervision. May be rotated through or assigned to any of the approved tours of duty. You will be responsible for maintaining assigned area in a sanitary manner through adhering to current service procedures/policies and area work schedule.

    Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Sunday - Various work schedules are available, some to include nights and/or weekends at the discretion of the supervisor.
