The technologist works independently and performs computed tomography examination procedures. He/she will perform computerized tomography of the head, neck, spine, chest, and body with and without the use of contrast materials to achieve diagnostic studies for proper diagnosis and treatment. The selectee will discuss any case that deviates from normal protocol set by the radiologist; assist radiologists in biopsies examinations; prepare and administer contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist for the purpose of performing exams requiring injectable solutions such as CT scan exams and for the purpose of performing oral and rectal exams of the GI tract. With training and under supervision of the radiologist, establishes IV access and administers IV contrast. The selectee will observe patient for signs and symptoms of adverse contrast reaction and initiates the appropriate response for varying levels of severity. He/she will prepare contrast materials for all CT procedures. The CT technologist will be responsible to the radiologists and supervisor for the quality and quantity of radiographic exams performed in order to assure a high level of acceptability of radiographs while minimizing patient dosage and reducing costs.
Work Schedule:
DAY SHIFT: 7:00am-3:30pm, 8:00am-4:30pm and 7:00am-5:30pm on weekdays. Weekends are 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am. Weekends are worked for time off during week.
NIGHT SHIFT: Monday - Friday 11:00pm - 7:30am
