    Your typical work assignments may include:

    • Respond to CBRNE threats on the Pentagon Reservation and at select DOD facilities in the National Capitol Region.
    • Enter hazard areas to rescue victims, accurately evaluate the nature of the thereat, effectively mitigate the threat, and assist with the subsequent criminal investigation.
    • Interpret and analyze disparate scientific data acquired from state-of-the-art CBRNE detection equipment and apply findings to the criminal investigative process.
    • Provide emergency response recommendations to the Incident Commander necessary to save the life and property during an emergency.
    • Communicates assignments, organizations strategic plan, mission, vision and values to the team members, and identifies, balances, and distribute workload.
    • Identifies training needs and trains team members.
    • Respond to emergency incidents involving Improvised Explosive Devices, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and other terrorist acts.
    • Monitors and assists the operations of CBRNE Investigative Specialists as they prepare to operate in extremely hazardous atmospheres.
    • Conduct destructive, incendiary device and explosives determinations for PFPA and other Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
    • Uses expert knowledge of CBRN hazards, including biological agents, such as toxins, viruses, and bacteria, chemical warfare agents, and radiological sources, to minimize risk and accomplish tasks.
