    This position is located in the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, Operations Division, Office of Records and FOIA. The incumbent serves as a FOIA and transparency technical and program analyst at Bureau headquarters.

    The following are the duties of this position at the CN-52. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

    • Receive, track, and respond to FOIA requests. Conduct effective records searches, apply the appropriate FOIA exemptions, and ensure that requests are completed within established timeframes.
    • Conduct technical review of complex cases involving the interpretation of directives or past precedents
    • Review policy guidelines, standard operating procedures, inspection reports, risk-assessments, and significant cases to identify systemic trends indicating the need to update Bureau FOIA policy, procedures, or training.
    • Recommend the development of new metrics in response to new program initiatives to assess the efficiency and integrity of Bureau FOIA programs and their execution
    • Prepare and deliver briefings to Bureau leadership, managers, the public or others on program operations or project status.
