This position serves as an experienced Auditor (IT) in the Kansas City regional office for the Office of Assistant Inspector General for Audit (AIGA), Information Technology Audit Operations Division, USDA-OIG. The AIGA is responsible for providing auditing services and oversight for USDA agencies and programs. In this experienced position the Auditor (IT) assists or leads in planning and performing audit procedures, in accordance with applicable standards and guidance of USDA agencies’ Information Technology systems, networks and data.
The Auditor (IT) will perform the following duties:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have successfully completed one of the following:
Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
OR
Combination of education and experience: 4 years of accounting or auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge AND Twenty-four semester hours in accounting/auditing courses or a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor.
In addition to the basic requirements described above, the incumbent must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal government. Specialized experience is defined as: planning and executing audit assignments; working with a team performing specific audit assignments; assisting with the drafting of audit surveys or programs; actively participating in briefings before and after audit results; assisting with the writing of draft and final audit reports; and assisting with identifying, evaluating, and recommending changes to technical writing.
In addition to these requirements, the incumbent must show that they have drafted and reviewed audit documentation for technical competency and compliance with audit standards.
