    This position is located at the Washington DC VA Medical Center in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service (PM&RS). As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for completing neuromusculoskeletal evaluations and treatments. You will apply evaluation methodologies and treatment theories in the provision of care to a vast array of functional impairments and patients.

    • Assist Supervisor in planning and developing various treatment programs to meet patient needs.
    • Establish and maintains contact with other health care providers involved in patient care via written, telephone, and personal communication on a regular basis.
    • Assist in the development, planning and implementation of monitors of quality of care with respect to PM&RS as part of the comprehensive health care services.
    • Examine and treats patients referred to the Physical Therapy department.
    • Assess patient dysfunction using appropriate tests/tools.
    • Provide patient education, specialized treatments, and applies physical therapy procedures for which competency has been established and in accordance with laws or regulations and APTA documents.
    • Modify the treatment plan, therapeutic activities and interventions based on the changing needs, goals and performance of the patient.
