    As part of USDA’s new Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) Mission Area, we are the focal point for assisting the voluntary conservation efforts of the nation’s farmers, ranchers and other stewards of agricultural lands and non-industrial private forest lands. We help these stewards plan and implement proven conservation systems through technical and financial assistance designed to enhance productivity, improve soil and water health, and restore wetlands and wildlife habitat.

    The Biologist serves under the supervision of a designated Wetland Agency Expert, and performs duties which assist in carrying out a coordinated natural resources conservation program tailored to customers' needs.

    • Primary tasks involve gathering information for and issuing wetland determinations, completing scope and effect evaluations, and other related activities.
    • Gathers the necessary data and works in the field with producers and other NRCS personnel to conduct on-site investigations for wetland determinations.
    • Independently services requests for reconsideration of determinations the employee has issued.
    • Maintains liaison with other NRCS specialists regarding wetland related activities.
