This National Guard position is for a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, Position Description Number T5913100 and is part of the KS Advanced Turbine Engine And Maintenance, National Guard.
As a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC WG-5803-10, you will serve as a member of a team responsible for the overhaul and rebuild of the AGT. Perform the disassembly and preliminary inspection of the AGT 1500 Turbine Engine and its major components. Reassemble the entire turbine engine, completed components, and subassemblies contained in the end item. May perform work in one of the component rebuild activities within the facility. In this capacity, performs the repair, modification, calibration, testing and/or reassembly of individual parts and subassemblies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

QualificationsSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have the following experiences: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision; Ability To Instruct others; Ability To inspect the work of others; Ability To provide production support services; Ability To lead or provide first level supervision.
Physical Effort: Work is performed in tiring positions, at times, for extended periods of time, requiring frequent bending, reaching and crouching. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds and often puts forth similar effort in pushing, pulling and turning while positioning parts, assemblies, equipment and tools. Often lifts heavier items with the assistance of other workers or lifting devices such as jacks, hoists and forklifts.
Working Conditions: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Subject to a relatively constant climatic work environment while in the shop. Subject to temperature extremes such as rain, snow, and wet and icy areas, while working outside. There is exposure to irritations and discomfort from dust, grease, heat and fumes from working both inside and outside. Subject to cuts, burns, chemical irritations, bruises and injuries from falls while positioning and moving equipment. Follows prescribed safety practices and use of safety equipment such as protective ear devices, hard toed shoes, gloves and protective clothing. Some of these safety items may be uncomfortable to wear or use and may be worn for long periods of time.
