    This position is located in the U.S. Department of Energy, Idaho Operations Office, Deputy Manager Idaho Cleanup Project, Waste Disposition, Solid Waste Disposition or Soil and Water Remediation. A successful candidate in this position will provide leadership and coordination of various planning, engineering, and regulatory activities and oversight of retrieval, treatment, and eventual disposal of the solid waste or remediation of hazardous substance releases to the environment.

    As an Interdisciplinary General Engineer/Physical Scientist, you will be:

    • Participating in management of projects and/or operations from design, construction, initial startup and through operation, shut down and final deactivation and decontamination
    • Performing oversight of all phases of complex programs
    • Preparing programmatic and technical work scope and review programmatic and technical work scope prepared by the contractor
    • Defining objectives, scope, cost, and schedule for programs
    • Conducting earned value analysis and develop earned value progress reports
    • Providing technical support to the Contracting Officer (CO) as part of federal oversight of the respective contracts
    • Conducting technical discussions and prepare/deliver written and oral presentations to DOE-HQ and DOE-ID management, state regulators, and stakeholders on program activities
    • Ensuring that specific program goals and objectives as well as proposed budgets and schedules are consistent with DOE strategy
