YOU MUST BE A VETERAN AND MEET ALL THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: Honorably discharged; Released from active duty within the last five years; Pay grades at or below E-5 or O-3; 20% or greater service connected disability rating (Purple Heart recipients are exempt from the service connected disability rating requirement). The incumbent provides support to the HIR Immediate Office. Teh incumbent supports the creation and maintenance of policy and technical publications and assists with the operations of the Technology Governance and Compliance Team. This position does not have supervisory/managerial responsibilities. Primary duties include but are not limited to: 1) Ensures timely and accurate publication of technical adn non-technical policies, publications, web content, SharePoint content, and customer outreach articles.
2) Maintains filing system and repository for documents.
3) Produce technical IT governance, guidance, policy, user communication and outreach documents.
4) Review and maintain existing documentation.
5) Provide support for current projects and initiatives.
6) Provide consultation on technical documentation in adherence to the CAO Style Guide.
7) Conduct required research and consultation to support document content. 8) Work with the HIR Technology Governance Team to support IT change management, project management, and internal controls initiatives. 9) Performs other duties as assigned.
Ability to carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning etc.
Ability to review, understand and retain knowledge of House Rules, Committee and CAO policies and procedures, as well as specific Unit, Sub-Unit, and Branch practices and procedures. Proficient working knowledge of computers and related software comprised of Office 365 Applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing as well as the ability to establish effective working relationships with senior staff and other high ranking officials.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently. Demonstratable organizational skills and attention to detail.
Adept at prioritizing multiple ongoing projects and ensure timely completion.
Experience in technical writing of policy and procedures.
Experience conducting observation, research, and fact gathering for document content.
Experience proofreading technical documentation.
Ability to translate technical jargon into user friendly content.
Candidate must be detail oriented and have the ability to work in a fast paced team environment.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Ability to complete projects within timelines and under minimal supervision.
Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a professional and courteous work disposition.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
High School Diploma required; College Degree welcomed.
The successful candidate must have the following abilities: detail oriented, strong organizational skills, be able to work independently and in a team environment, and be able to multitask. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of the legislative process is not required.
