    Summary

    Joining the Secret Service, Office of Protective Operations, Special Services Division, will allow you to be a part of its protective mission by evaluating and performing maintenance to the state-of-the-art fleet for protective armored vehicles. This Automotive Worker has a starting salary of $21.91/hr (WG-7, step 1), or a starting salary of $23.56/hr (WG-8, step 1) with potential to $27.39 (WG-8, step 5).     Responsibilities

    • Making repairs to vehicle components such as radiators, engine thermostats, cylinders, mufflers, brakes, catalytic converters, clutch assemblies, alternators, carburetors, and suspensions; etc...
    • Performing proper maintenance using various wrenches (sockets, torques, impacts, etc.) ratchets, pliers, brake tools, screwdrivers, engine analyzers, capacity testers, hand held computer diagnostics and other mechanical equipment used to test functionality.
    • Understanding safety procedures and practices; disposing of hazardous materials (e.g. oil, antifreeze, brake fluids, batteries, etc.); and following the Occupational Safety and Health Administration practices and procedures.
