This position serves as the executive-level Deputy Director for the Directorate of Military Force Management Policy (A1P), which oversees force management for all aspects of the active component of the Air Force and works with Total Force partners on reporting and integrating military personnel policy and programs. The Directorate is headed by a general officer or equivalent and is located within the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) for Manpower, Personnel and Services which is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive human resource management program. Ensures key national and AF total force goals, priorities, and values guide the planning process; fully assesses and integrates analytical insight into total force military force management policies and programs. Incumbent directs the development and implementation of total force policies and programs to achieve long-range strategic plans in HR management for Air Force military members. Incumbent determines the most economical means of achieving objectives effectively. Considers Active Duty and Air Reserve component force mix, outsourcing, and technology changes to resolve requirement/resource disconnects.
