    About the Position:

    This position is located in the Enterprise & Systems Integration Center. The Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) is the Army's Center of Lethality, and provides more than 90 percent of the Army's lethality to soldiers. ARDECs mission includes: improving already fielded items, developing new items, maintaining a strong armament technology base in government, industry and academia and providing technical support to Soldiers in the field.

    Serves as Mechanical Engineer and team member with responsibility for a portion of the team program. Establishes and monitors the scientific and development initiatives for projects assigned that include exploratory, advanced, or full scale development programs. Performance of duties requires a professional knowledge of Mechanical Engineering. The nature of the work performed is characterized by frequently or recurring complexities such as the non-applicability of established criteria and technical precedents and inadequacy or unavailability of data requiring skill in improvising and judgment in making key engineering/scientific recommendations that have an impact on the development program concerned.
