The Associate Deputy Assistant Administrator (ADAA) serves as an SES member on the DEA leadership team and as such is responsible for: advising/supporting the Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Information Systems (SI), who is responsible for advising the Assistant Administrator for Operational Support, DEA's Chief Information Officer (CIO), on all Information Technology (IT) designs, development, implementation, and evaluations necessary to meet DEA's mission needs. The incumbent will be directly responsible for ensuring that DEA's IT operations continue without disruption and provide line-of-sight reporting across the organization; and will assist DEA in complying with all laws, statutes & regulations, particularly the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA), which requires heads of agencies to ensure that their CIOs have oversight & a significant role in all IT decisions; has overall responsibility for planning, coordinating, directing and leading activities associated with all SI Engineering and Integration functions to include IT Infrastructure technical architecture and infrastructure modernization projects. The SI Engineering and Integration Section engineers and integrates DEA-wide information technology initiatives for the sensitive but unclassified (SBU) networks and the classified networks; directs/leads the activities associated with Enterprise Cloud Services, Cloud architecture and configuration, cloud security, customer onboarding & governance processes; provides oversight to Cloud Operations, which provide a state-of- the-art, highly efficient cloud computing infrastructure (STRATus) that can be used to transition systems and applications from outdated, end-of-life hardware and services to a new platform; directs and leads the activities associated with OMB-mandated Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) for DEA; has overall responsibility for the DOJ Core Enterprise Facility-DC and provides the required services to other DOJ components; directs all aspects of customer operations to include account management, training, assistive technology, customer relationship management, and 24/7 enterprise monitoring essential functions and services; & directs/leads the activities associated with network operations, security, incident management, enterprise commercial off-the-shelf applications (COTS) web services, telecommunications, incident management capacity management and disaster recovery services.
