The Network Quality Management Officer (QMO) reports directly to the VISN Director and leads the Network Quality Safety Value/Performance Improvement program throughout the VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN21).
Incumbent monitors and evaluates quality of care across the Network; facilities the network-wide reduction of variance in care, facilitates the integration of quality, safety and value into the Network's day-to-day operations and culture, facilitates management of organizational change required to achieve patient safety improvement and quality management goals, including facilitating resolution of obstacles to achieving these goals. The QMO also identifies innovative quality management, patient safety, and lean improvement activities and facilitates the networkwide and VHA system wide deployment, as appropriate: identifies, communicates, and facilitates deployment of "best practices" throughout the Network; has expertise and conducts organizational assessments; develops, conducts, and directs special studies and analyses of complex issues as assigned; interprets such studies for Network and facility leadership.
