    Summary

    Incumbent is the Emergency Physician who evaluates and treats patients presenting for care in the Emergency Room. As Admitting Physician, he/she must be available at all times in the Admitting & Discharge area for any emergency; his/her only and basic responsibility is as Admitting Officer.

    Note: This is an open continuous announcement used for anticipated vacancies. Applications will be referred every 30 days as needed from the opening date until position has been filled.

    Responsibilities

    Most cases are medical emergencies; trauma cases are rare. The individual will be involved in the triage and management of patients requiring medical and surgical care. Experience in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Surgery preferred. The incumbent must demonstrate continuing effort to keep abreast of new medical developments and medical literature, and must meet facility and licensing requirements for continuing medical education (CME). The incumbent will have on-call duties, in rotation.

    Work Schedule: On-call, shift work including days, evenings and holidays.
