    Responsibilities

    The selectee will serve as a Supervisory Accountant in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Management Division. Typical work assignments include:

    • Conducting continuing evaluations of the effectiveness and adequacy of programs, operations, work methods, and techniques by determining the appropriate distribution of work for professional, technical, and administrative personnel.
    • Reviewing current operational policies and practices, and recommending specific changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processing financial activities within the branch.
    • Serving as the agency’s expert on the interpretation and application of laws, regulations, decisions and directives relating to government accounting, finance, relocation, and travel services.
    • Collaborating with high level officials and management on the formulation of short and long range organizational plans, goals, and objectives.
    • Developing financial reports, documents, presentations, and briefing materials in order to communicate short and long range organizational plans, financial issues or concerns, and solutions to management.
