    This position is located at the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, Directorate of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine, Family Medicine Clinic.

    Tour of duty can exceed 40 hours per week to meet mission requirements with after-hour and weekend on-call duties. On-call for in-patient service duties is generally every 6 weeks, and weekend duties occur about every 8 weeks.

    • As a Family Practice Physician, you will be responsible for the in-patient and out-patient care of a large population of active duty, retired military, and their family members.
    • This includes the examination, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of medical, surgical, gynecological, pediatric, and orthopedic care.
    • You will admit patients to the hospital and arrange for follow-up care or consultations.
    • Provide in-patient care to include patients from the emergency department, other clinics within the hospital, or outside facilities.
    • Mentor, teach, and oversee rotating residents and students.
