You will perform a variety of minor and major alterations and repairs on men's and women's military tailored uniforms in accordance with Army regulations and standards of acceptance of supported units which requires the use of all-purpose commercial sewing machines and some special -purpose machines such as button attaches and buttonhole makers, darning machines, blind stitches, single and double-needle flatbed and feed-off-the-arm machines, and thermal patching machines. Measures, fits and marks tailored coats, trousers, overcoats, raincoats, skirts and other articles of military uniforms on individuals. You will also take measurements and makes alterations on uniforms. Alterations include lengthening and shortening, adjusting waists, back sea trouser, lengthening and shortening coats and jackets, overcoats, and raincoat sleeves, and hats and caps, lengthening and shortening skirts and adjusting waistbands. You will also perform routine maintenance on machines and/or hand tools.
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
