    The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Protocol Officer with the planning, developing, managing, as well as executing in all areas of the command protocol program to include conferences, ceremonies, briefings, official and social functions, to include both high level foreign and domestic visits.

    Responsibilities

    • Plans, and organizes activities, ensuring protocol complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
    • Develops proposed itineraries, arranges for transportation, lodging reservations, entertainment, briefings, courtesy calls, tours and numerous other actions.
    • Assures that arrangements and details are tailored to each particular protocol event, considering the visitor's country, position, culture and diplomatic code; applies standard rules of protocol, develops plans for visits.
    • Implements general officer administrative support, ceremonial and protocol policy and procedural guidance for leadership and other applicable personnel concerning proper protocol requirements.
    • Represents the department with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
    • Provides advice, assistance and guidance to leadership, supervisors, and project officers regarding official military functions and community relation events.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - May be required to travel TDY as directed by management, sometimes on short notice, traveling by military or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means.
